Oggi continuiamo a parlare del baby shower; la tradizione statunitense vorrebbe che fosse una o più amiche della futura mamma ad organizzare i preparativi per aiutala, ma nulla vieta che sia lei stessa ad organizzare tutto. Anche se consiglio di farvi aiutare, soprattutto se cucinate voi!
Ma da cosa si parte? Questa è una vera festa con tanto di inviti per le partecipanti e scelti quelli si possono fare le decorazioni seguendo il tema scelto per gli inviti. per esempio potete scegliere delle immagini come un biberon, una cicogna, un bel fiocco. Potete usare pois, righe, fiori o chervon bicolore per dare un tocco originale. Passiamo al tavolo del buffet e la stanza dove allestirete la festa: il salotto sarebbe la stanza più indicata per questo tipo di festa, potete mettere le sedie in semi cerchio in modo che tutte possiate guardarvi reciprocamente con al centro ovviamente la mamma. Il tavolo del buffet potete appoggiarlo ad una parete, così da avere un maggiore spazio di movimento nella stanza e se vi può essere d’aiuto disegnate una piantina della stanza e di dove volete disporre le decorazioni. Se avete un open space potete anche pensare di dividere le bevande e il cibo. Per quanto riguarda l’allestimento del tavolo da buffet iniziamo con una bella tovaglia e ancora meglio anche una gonna per il tavolo in modo da coprire interamente le gambe del tavolo e potete scegliere le tonalità del bianco o crema, oppure rosa o azzurra. Potete collocare un runner centrale del colore del bambino in arrivo e sbizzarrirvi con tulle o organza per creare l’effetto delle nuvole e per decorare le varie alzate. Potete mettere dei biberon e delle carrozzine sul tavolo, orsacchiotti di peluches, piccole mongolfiere, qualche candela e sulla parete potete mettere il nome che avete scelto con una bella cicogna. Se lo desiderate, anche piccole decorazioni floreali.
E cosa posso offrire da mangiare? Li dipende dall’ora che avete deciso per la festa, se avete scelto l’ora del te potete offrire sia salto( come mini paninetti, tramezzini, muffin salati e girelle salate) sia dolce( biscotti di frolla, macaron, torte di vario genere, panna cotta in mono porzione) e per il bere ovviamente una selezione di te ed infusi che vanno bene sia con l’acqua calda, sia con quella fredda e ovviamente i succhi di frutta. Se avete scelto l’ora dell’aperitivo ovviamente vi concentrerete maggiormente sul salato aggiungendo delle pizzette, arachidi salati e ovviamente qualcosa di dolce per concludere la festa. Per il bere in questo caso potete scegliere anche una bottiglia di prosecco con metodo classico per poter brindare, cocktail analcolici alla frutta. Se invece decidete per una pausa caffè allora dovete scegliere di preparare solo cose dolci, dai cioccolatini, alle torte e pasticceria secca e alla crema. Da bere caffè, orzo, ginseng, latte di diverso genere (da quello intero a quello di capra, senza lattosio, di mandorla o di soia) e qualche tisana o infuso.

Ma la festa non finisce qua, una volta che la mamma ha scartato i regali, si passa ai giochi! Vediamo quali sono: si può cercare di indovinare il nome del nascituro, se non è ancora stato svelato, oppure la data precisa della nascita. Un altro gioco molto divertente è quello in cui le invitate devono indovinare la circonferenza del pancione della mamma. Si possono anche prendere delle tutine bianche sulle quali le invitate, con appositi pennarelli per i tessuti, dovranno creare dei disegni personalizzati. I giochi che si possono organizzare sono davvero tantissimi, basta avere un po’ di fantasia.
Non dobbiamo dimenticare di fare dei piccoli doni a chi è venuto alla festa, così da poterli ringraziare; potete optare per un qualcosa che richiami il tema della festa oppure biscotti confezionati, segnalibri, porta chiavi o simpatiche spillette, tutto per ricordare un bel momento passato insieme.

And what can I offer to eat? It depends on the time you have decided for the party, if you have chosen the tea time you can offer both jump (such as mini sandwiches, sandwiches, savory muffins and savory swivels) and sweet (shortcrust biscuits, macarons, cakes of various kinds , panna cotta in single portion) and for drinking obviously a selection of teas and infusions that go well with both hot and cold water and obviously fruit juices.
