Il Natale è ormai arrivato alle porte e oltre ai regali, è giunto il momento di pensare anche a come addobbare la tavola durante le feste. Deve essere bella, ma anche funzionale: ad esempio, a nessuno piace avere un centrotavola gigante che gli impedisce di parlare con chi ha davanti. Oppure, perché mettere più posate di quelle che effettivamente vengono utilizzate?
Seguendo i trend di stagione, i colori di questo Natale 2021 sono il bianco e il rosa. Per i più tradizionalisti, sono il rosso e il verde i colori must del natale e per loro l’idea più in voga è abbinare la fantasia tartan. Infine, per chi ha adottato in tutto e per tutto uno stile eco-friendly, la tendenza da seguire è il green ritual.
Andiamo a scoprire tutti i dettagli:
1. La tovaglia e i tovaglioli
Per la tua mise en place natalizia, parti dalla scelta dei tessuti. A seconda dello stile, potrai optare per una tovaglia a tinta unita oppure a fantasia. In realtà, una bella tovaglia bianca può essere la base per ogni decorazione. Nel caso in cui tu scelga il bianco ottico, potrai completare il tutto con tovaglioli dello stesso colore oppure con fili d’argento. Se invece deciderai di rispettare la tradizione, arricchisci la tavola con elementi rossi e verdi, optando per un runner in tartan e dei tovaglioli simili. Puoi anche decidere di abbinare i colori e lo stile della tavola a quello che hai scelto per l’albero per creare armonia soprattutto se l’ambiente è lo stesso.
2. Le stoviglie
Passiamo alle stoviglie, in questo caso partiremo da quelle principali ossia i piatti. Non è necessario che tu abbia un servizio di piatti a tema, ne basta anche uno classico senza troppe decorazioni, da arricchire con segnaposto e quant’altro. E’ sempre opportuno, su una tavola elegante, sistemare dei sottopiatti. Anche qui, a seconda del trend che deciderai di seguire, dovrai variare la tua scelta. Quelli in argento sono perfetti per una mise en place bianca, mentre quelli rossi (anche in plastica rigida) saranno ottimali in abbinamento al tartan. La vera novità dell’anno è il rosa: in questo caso, scegli dei sottopiatti in oro rosa. Se hai scelto il blu e il bianco come colori, allora il sottopiatto sarà blu. Ancora, per un allestimento in perfetto stile scandinavo, posiziona un sottopiatto a forma di tronco d’albero: l’effetto wow è assicurato! Per quanto riguarda i bicchieri, ricordati che vanno disposti mettendo quello dell’acqua a sinistra di quello del vino. In linea di massima, i più eleganti sono quelli in vetro trasparente, ma questo Natale saranno di gran moda i calici rossi e i bicchieri serigrafati. Anche le posate hanno la loro importanza: il mio consiglio è quello di non esagerare con i colori, scegliendo al massimo qualche accessorio con manico colorato. Tieni presente che i servizi di posate in acciaio vanno benissimo con qualsiasi stile!
Riepiloghiamo le regole per sistemarle in maniera corretta. Si inizia dalla parte destra con il coltello, con la lama rivolta verso il piatto, a seguire il cucchiaio, se necessario. Dall’altra parte del piatto le forchette, mentre le posate da dolce si posizionano in orizzontale sulla parte alta del piatto.
3. I segnaposto e i centrotavola
I segnaposto sono l’elemento che proprio non può mancare sulla tavola di Natale. Considera che ogni realizzazione può essere declinata nello stile che sceglierai. Ad esempio, il tovagliolo piegato a forma di abete è perfetto per lo stile Green, ma se userai un tovagliolo rosa andrà benissimo sulla tua mise en place Rose Gold. Un’altra idea, da accostare alla precedente oppure da usare in alternativa, sono i bastoncini di cannella legati con un sottile spago. Sono l’ideale per la tavola scandinava, ma vanno benissimo anche per un allestimento tutto bianco. Infine, con il centrotavola potrai liberare tutta la tua creatività. Pigne, qualche ramo d’abete e candele profumate sono adatti per ogni tendenza, sempre eleganti e di gran moda. Per un Natale all’insegna del fai da te, che ne diresti di realizzare un runner a fiocco di neve? Per essere davvero trendy, immancabili dovranno essere ghirlande luminose o semplici fili di lucine. Usati insieme oppure in modo alterno alle candele, arricchiranno la tua tavola donandole luce e magia.

It must be beautiful, but also functional: for example, no one likes to have a giant centerpiece that prevents them from talking to those in front of them. Or why put more cutlery than is actually used? Following the seasonal trends, the colors of this Christmas 2021 are white and pink. For the more traditionalists, red and green are the must-haves of Christmas and for them the most popular idea is to combine the tartan pattern. Finally, for those who have fully adopted an eco-friendly style, the trend to follow is the green ritual.
Let’s find out all the details:
1. The tablecloth and napkins
For your Christmas mise en place, start with the choice of fabrics. Depending on the style, you can opt for a plain or patterned tablecloth. In fact, a beautiful white tablecloth can be the basis for any decoration. If you choose optical white, you can complete everything with napkins of the same color or with silver threads. If, on the other hand, you decide to respect tradition, enrich the table with red and green elements, opting for a tartan table runner and similar napkins. You can also decide to match the colors and style of the table to the one you have chosen for the tree to create harmony especially if the environment is the same.
2. The dishes
Let’s move on to the dishes, in this case we will start from the main ones or the dishes. It is not necessary that you have a themed plate service, even a classic one without too many decorations is enough, to be enriched with place cards and so on. It is always advisable, on an elegant table, to arrange some mats. Here too, depending on the trend you decide to follow, you will have to vary your choice. The silver ones are perfect for a white mise en place, while the red ones (also in rigid plastic) will be optimal in combination with tartan. The real novelty of the year is pink: in this case, choose pink gold mats. If you have chosen blue and white as your colors, then the placemat will be blue. Again, for a perfect Scandinavian-style setting, place a tree trunk-shaped placemat: the wow effect is guaranteed! As for the glasses, remember that they should be arranged by placing the water one to the left of the wine one. In general, the most elegant are those in transparent glass, but this Christmas red goblets and screen-printed glasses will be all the rage. Cutlery also has its importance: my advice is not to overdo it with colors, choosing at most some accessories with colored handles. Keep in mind that steel cutlery sets go great with any style!
Let’s summarize the rules to fix them correctly. You start on the right side with the knife, with the blade facing the plate, followed by the spoon if necessary. On the other side of the plate, the forks, while the dessert cutlery is positioned horizontally on the top of the plate.
3. Place cards and centerpieces
The placeholders are the element that just cannot be missing on the Christmas table. Consider that each creation can be declined in the style you choose. For example, the napkin folded in the shape of a fir is perfect for the Green style, but if you use a pink napkin it will look great on your Rose Gold mise en place. Another idea, to be combined with the previous one or to be used as an alternative, are cinnamon sticks tied with a thin string. They are ideal for the Scandinavian table, but they are also great for an all-white setting. Finally, with the centerpiece you can unleash all your creativity. Pine cones, some fir branches and scented candles are suitable for every trend, always elegant and very fashionable. For a diy Christmas, how about making a snowflake runner? To be truly trendy, they must be luminous garlands or simple strings of lights. Used together or alternately with candles, they will enrich your table giving it light and magic.
