Solitamente si tende a festeggiare il 25° e il 50° anniversario di matrimonio, soprattutto in grande stile, ma ogni anniversario ha il proprio nome e il proprio colore, scopriamoli assieme!
La tradizione attuale di conferire un nome e un significato agli anniversari di matrimonio nacque nella Germania medievale. In quel periodo quando una coppia arrivava ai 25 anni di unione, le famiglie e i conoscenti omaggiavano la sposa collocandole una corona d’argento sul capo per congratularsi degli anni di nozze trascorsi. Lo stesso rito accadeva successivamente con i 50 anni e in quel caso la corona era d’oro: questo dette vita alle famose nozze d’oro e d’argento. Come in tutte le tradizioni, l’usanza di dare un importanza agli sposi si estese anche agli altri anni e ogni volta i regali consistevano in diversi materiali, dai più fragili ai più solidi. In questo modo si rappresentava la forza e la stabilità della coppia che aumentava col tempo. Attualmente, il nome conferito a ognuno degli anniversari è connesso al tipo di materiale che si usava regalare.
